“Almost 80 per cent of the perception of our biological age depends on the condition of our gaze. An intense gaze, an open eye with a defined contour and the brightness of the eye area can affect the perception of our age. In this respect, it is essential to take care of the eye contour, which in many cases tends to age prematurely compared to other areas of the face. This happens due to several factors such as the inability of the skin in this area to retain sufficient moisture, or as this type of skin is thin and delicate, it bears sunlight poorly and tends to wither. Another important factor is facial expression, and squinting to shield the eyes from light or trying to focus small print in presbyopic persons accentuates, especially in dehydrated tissue, the appearance of the first small wrinkles or the famous 'crow's feet'. The formulation of this serum exerts a number of important actions on the skin of the eye area, such as excellent moisturisation, a replumping effect attributable to the konjac plant biopolymer, and in terms of prevention, it performs a strongly antioxidant activity due to the controlled and prolonged release of vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E and vitamin F. Equally not insignificant are the aesthetic results attributable to oedema, swelling of the lower eyelid, puffiness and dark circles. These manifestations, which can be traced to various aetiologies, are well counteracted by the plant extracts of cocoa, black pepper, ginger and cardamom. After applying the serum to a study group of 30 patients aged between 35 and 65 and dividing them into 3 study groups according to age range, I prescribed 50% of them a daily application of the serum 3 times a day and the remaining 50% a daily application of the serum 5 times a day. Thirty per cent of the total sample (50% 3 applications and 50% 5 applications) obtained superimposable results, while for the remaining 70% of the sample those who had applied the serum 5 times a day obtained far better results than those who had only applied the serum 3 times a day. In both cases, the treatment was effective in restoring the functional capacity of the periocular tissues, although with greater evidence in the sample who (at the same age) had applied the serum several times a day. ”
